Sims 4 Won't Repair

So I was trying to launch my game from the EA app as normal, but then I got a message saying that one of the game's files was corrupted, and that it needs to repair itself. So I tried to let it do that, but it wasn't working. It would seem like it was repairing for a little bit, but then it would go crazy saying it was 90% done then 35% and so on. Then eventually I'd get an error saying something "went haywire" and to try again. I've tried repairing several times now and get the same results. I've tried clearing the cache and it didn't help either. I was considering trying to uninstall and reinstall the app, but I'm just worried I'll lose my saves :-(

  • @hartleysims  You can try reinstalling Origin and repairing through that instead.  This post has a download link:

Your saves and other user content (saved households and builds, mods and custom content, etc.) are stored in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.  Uninstalling the game should not delete this folder, but it's best to make a backup copy anyway.  In fact, it's a good idea to make frequent backups even when you're not troubleshooting—you never know when something will go wrong and you'll need to revert.  You can delete the older backups when you're sure you won't need them.

  • Yes. Last time I have tried that too I have noticed there has been a constant repair issue, and another issue saying that there might have been someone else logging in, but what I am wondering is how the game shuts down, including when the game crashes...that has been happening quite a bit lately. It freezes. So, please let me know.
