Sims 4 WON'T WORK

Hi,My name is Abby,

I've had this problem for awhile and I thought it was time to do something about it.

The problem is I can't play the sims 4.

Its worked like 3 times then stopped working.

The only thing that I noticed that was different was a thing saying bside the "play" button was: " update available"

I don't what to do...

I've installed the sims 4, I'm not sure,But when it was downloading the first disk it told me to put disk 2 in and I did.

When I THOUGHT it was done I began to shut down my computer,It said origin was still up and I didn't know..Before it  went black it said something about

the sims.... I don't know if that was a bad thing or a good thing.....

So, here are the things I've tried: I tried to clean boot as you said,Didn't work.

When into my library  of games and sims 4 was.. faded I suppose and I couldn't play it until I put the disk back in.

As I said it only worked 3 times then stopped..Everything to do with the sims DIDN'T WORK! Everything stopped loading when I clicked it..

I hope you can help me...Thank you.

  • If it says "update available", then update it.
Ive had this problem with sims3 many times. It wont let me play unless i update it, or turn the internet off while playing.

    I hope this helps 🙂

Try Clearing out the origin cache  Ensure Origin is fully closed by clicking the Origin Menu and selecting Exit.Delete the following folders:Origin folder - Found in C:\ProgramData\Origin folder - Found in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\ Origin folder - Found in C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Note: These folders are hidden by default, and the player will need to un-hide to be able to locate them.to unhide folders:-type folder options in the search field in the start menu-click on the view tab -under the hidden folders options click show hidden files, folders, and drives- apply the setting and click ok

had the same problem. Literally got it sorted out yesterday.

When following these instructions, make sure NOT to delete C:\ProgramData\Origin\LocalContent

  • Thank you! its finally working! 😃

but I also have another problem.

After playing the game a few times, I went to play it again. Then it came up with a error message saying: Unable to start game.

data is damaged or missing. please try reinstalling the game.

So I looked up how to fix it and someone said to try and repair the game by right clicking it.

    So I did.

Then after all that it was working, but when I got to the menu. MY GAME/HOUSEHOLD WAS DELETED!

I tried going into the EA folder to see if the saves were in there. Their were quite a lot of things I had never seen like

    Slot_00000001.save

    savegame-00000000f68d0000-13.sav

    zoneObjects-083a01d905f80aac-6.sav

    lotthumbnail-083a01d905f80deb-15.thm

    package-clientDB-18.pkg

    and so on..

I tried putting all them on my desktop to see if anything would change but nothing did.

I even put disk 2 in to see if anything would happen as well.

    Nothing.

This is very disappointing, I was happy with my household and don't really like the idea of making another one.

Would there happen to be a fault with the software?

Does anyone have an idea of how I could get my saved game back?

Do you have this files in the saves folder directly or in a subfolder ?

Could you post a picture of your saves folder ?
