Solved

Sims aren't considerate of others when they do things

IE: One of my child sims is sleeping in a room, then another sim comes in and decides to turn on the radio, waking the sleeping kid.

That's the only example I can think of off the top of my head, though I'm sure there are more :P

We can investigate this. When you've seen this, using the specific example you gave, were there other Fun-providing objects available? If that radio was literally the only object on the lot that provided Fun, and a Sim needed to increase their Fun motive, then that seems by design (or "user error" I suppose). But if you had another radio in a different room, then it seems like the Sim should've had a preference to use the other one.

There was a computer and a chess table in the room next door, but only one radio. Still, sims shouldn't wake people up to do whatever they feel like doing imo.

Now that I think of it, the other stuff *might* have been already taken; I'll see if I can reproduce this though. (Which mainly involves watching and waiting)

Edit: yup, clicking the button to auto solve the fun motive does not prevent sims from waking others up if all available objects have a similar advertisement level.

Update: It turns out that the computer in the other room had such high ad value that it was taking forever to make any progress. I removed it (still had a chess table and added 2 more stereos to the house, in different rooms.) The first thing the sim did was to go straight for the stereo where there were sims sleeping... and proceed to wake them up.

Cool, we'll look into it. Could you perhaps upload a lot to the Gallery where you've seen this occurring? Or share your save file? Thanks much!

I think I shared the save file now. Apparently editing my post doesn't bump it.
