Sims Keep Freezing

Sims keep freezing and so does the time. Animation of the trees seem to keep moving but nothing else is. I’m not able to get out of the game either without forcing my computer to shut down. Repairing the game in the EA app doesn’t seem to work for the issue.

    @shanylover  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and let me know how it runs.

    If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

    @shanylover  Your dxdiag doesn't list any Sims 4 errors but does show some failed Windows updates.  So please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

    Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

    The dxdiag also shows that Razer's Game Manager Service and Software Development Kit are crashing, so please uninstall those and any other Razer apps you currently have.  You may be able to reinstall them without issues, but please keep them off your computer until Sims 4 is running well again.

    If you get another freeze or a crash, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

    Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent Sims 4 freeze/crash.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
