Sims not moving

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:Mac
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.63.133.1220
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Cats and Dogs, Get Famous, Vampires, and Toddler stuff
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? When I direct my sim to move it doesn't move, the sim moves on its own and every time I try to fix it, the sim gets stuck and it just stands there.
What happens when the bug occurs? the Sim just stands there and the mood icon, the sims arms are up
What do you expect to see? I should be able to move my sims and control
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

So when I start my game everything is fine and then i direct my sim to do something and then it gets stuck and the sim just goes on its own and I tried to see if it was just the world or if it effected all my other worlds that I created and it did. the mood icon it showed the arms of the sim up and when I went to look at the new makeup in create a sim and then the arms were up again. and also when I did the story mode in create a sim the sim did not generate.  this happened after the update.

  • I had what sounds like basically the same issue on PC. I removed my entire saves folder from The Sims 4 folder and put it on my desktop. Then I went back to Origin and I right clicked on the gear next to the play button for The Sims 4 and I selected "repair" which took a while since I have lots of packs. I loaded my game without my saves. I randomized a sim and started a new save which worked normally. I exited the game and then I added my saves back into The Sims 4 folder and loaded up my game. Loaded a new save I made after I originally updated and it worked normally. Seems to be fixed. I hope this is helpful!

  • HI @Morgan22507

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.
