Sims Not putting away trash

My Sim has the cleanliness trait, and doesn't clean up their trash. Even when i comand them to clean up dirty plates or clean the microwave, they just pick up the dish, and set it back down. I am not using any mods for this. I just got it today. My sim isn't doing what i tell it to do, and there is nothing blocking the trash bin or sink. if you could please tell my why it isn't doing what i tell it to, non the less doing it on its own, that would be great. I dont have any extra ad ons or anthing that could effect this and i would like to know why this isn't functioning like i hoped it would. Thanks
