Sims Stuck on startup screen

When I open the sims it opens with the blue startup screen and then wont let me do anything. It wont let me tab out or even open task manager to close it out, I have to fully restart the computer. I have moved my Sims 4 folder onto my desktop and that doesn't work. I uninstalled both the EA app and the Sims 4 and that didn't work. I also tried repairing it multiple times. Here is the Dxdiag thing, let me know if I uploaded the wrong thing.

Also I did update to the newest version, but I never got to open the latest version so the new update might be the problem. But I'm not sure :)

  • marisa049  Thanks for the dxdiag, which would have been my first request once you said moving the user folder didn't help.  The dxdiag shows you've plugged your monitor into the motherboard; please connect it directly to the graphics card instead.

If that doesn't help, please disable any Killer software in the Task Manager, including in the background processes list, before you try to play.

If that doesn't help either, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent attempt to open Sims 4.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.

Thank you! Plugging my monitor into the graphics card fixed it :)
