Do you have laptop mode on or off ?
Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?
To gather a DxDiag on your computer, please follow the steps here: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-3/HOW-TO-DxDiag-for-Sims-3-PC-Only/td-p/1049584/ - Anonymous12 years ago
Hi,
I played with laptopmodus on and off, but nothing changes.
Here's my DxDiag (I hope I did it right):
I really hope you can help me, it bothers me.

Try checking of your graphics drivers are up-to-date.
You might wanna reinstall them. Your dxdiag shows a bit weird for your drives (no date, version shown)

I just set my laptopmodus off, restarted the Sims 4. Now my Sim was a normal colour, but everything was blurry.
So I set my laptopmodus on again and suddenly everything looks great (I didn't restart my Sim after I set laptopmodus on again).
But I'm afraid, if I restart it again, my Sim will become black/dark again. That's what happened last time. So I have no idea what is going on.
And what do you mean with 'your dxdiag shows a bit weird for your drivers'?
(I'm sorry if my English is not that great, I'm Dutch ;-))

Normally the DxDiag gives you your graphics drivers date and version. For you all I see is n/a and a weird character instead of a date.
Don't think it's a lanuage issue.
Just play around with the settings if it happens again.
i have the same glitch, and i took this test and i found out my drivers are from 2012 unfortunately i cant update them , when i turn off my laptop mode sims are lit, but when lit, very dark, and i cant play without laptop mode because it's too laggy, how can i fix this
