Sims will no longer react?

I have no clue what is the cause of this, or how it even happened, but I have tried to read other threads about this and I can't find a solution. My sims will no longer react to anything. If I ask them to take a shower they will not react, but if I ask them to take a bath they will. If I try to do any interactions with the bed, whether it be sitting or sleeping, they're immediately cancelled. I ask them to cook, and they will take out the ingredients and then leave them on the floor. On the paint easel, I ask them to paint and they will just stand there while the painting is finished in two seconds. In CAS, only one Sim will appear, even if it has a large family. When playing the actual game, they will not do anything by themselves even if the autonomy is on, and if I try to get them to interact with one another they will just stare at each other.

The UI works perfectly, as does the Build Mode. I have downloaded the game twice, with no change, and have even tried to start new games, to see if it was just one. I have a lot of Mods, could it be that? Also, when I deleted the game, I kept the saves in a separate folder as to not lose them, could it be that too?

    Your on the right track. Is your computer a pc or Mac. That has all the signs of a mod gone bad.

    Mac, I'm going to go delete all my mods now to see if that's a cause.

    Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

    You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

    Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

    The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.
