Sims won’t launch properly

When I try to launch the sims to play, it puts the loading screen up for 1 second then it disappears (back to desktop) though the sims is still on the bar at the bottom as of it is minimised. I click on it and it either flashes up for a second again or does nothing.

I’ve tried:

•repairing through the app

•uninstalling and reinstalling

•moving the sims folder out of documents

  • How can I disable Steam? Especially since that's how I own/play the game?

  • grumpu55  Since you need to use Steam, you can simply disable its in-game overlay.  I'd try disabling the global setting and the one for Sims 4, separately and together, to see what happens.

If you need further help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
