Sim's won't connect to internet even though I have an internet connection

I can't seem to get my sims to connect to the internet for whatever reason even though i have fast high speed internet that is not easy to hack into and I'm trying to update it so i can get the toddlers update but it won't let me connect and i don't have origin to help me so it is a HUGE problem I even had this problem on sims 3 please help me.
