Does the game show up in Task Manager and then disappear? Do you get any errors?

I am having the same problem. I have Sims4 downloaded to my computer, which is more than capable to play it, but when I hit play it does nothing. It just stays in the make a family mode. NO error comes up, just nothing.
I paid a lot of money for this game and now it won't work. Very frustrated!
Someone please help! - 11 years ago
It briefly appears in my task manager, then it's gone. During that time the play button greys out as if it's going to start-up and play, but then nothing happens. After a couple minutes the play button highlights again.
There are no errors messages, no crash reporting screens, nothing...and I mean nothing happens. When I first purchased the game it ran great, I had no issues with it at all. Then Origin had an update and neither Sims 4 nor Sim City 2013 have worked since (the only two games I have the completely require origin in order to play).
My guess is that it's origin that's the problem..I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Sims 4, Sim City and Origin itself, to no avail.
Any guess on the issue would be greatly appreciated.
As I posted already, every other program and game I have (either by CD or Steam) work perfectly with no freezes or CTD's. I have also completely checked my pc with Spybot, my anti-virus program and cleaned everything via CC cleaner as well.
