Simulation Lag

(I am sorry for my english, its kinda bad, but, but i hope you guys will understand what i am trying to say 🤨)

Hello, i already wrote a post on reddit, but nobody answered me, so i will to ask for help here too.

So i am playing Sims 4 since ~2015 and i own all the dlcs, and kits, and i only own 0,99 GB of mods. (They are all up to date)

At the first i just wanna write down my PC specifications:

  • Motherboard: GA-990X-Gaming SLI-CF
  • RAM: 24 GB (DDR3 ; 1600 MHz)
  • GPU: GTX 970 4GB
  • CPU: amd fx 8350 (i bought it 8 years ago, the lag maybe because of my cpu, i dont know)

Oh, and i play the game on an SSD.

My loading times are around 5 minutes.

And the worst part is the simulation lag... 😢

My sims very often just dont to what i say, they just cancel the "task bubbles" after like 10 seconds.

And when they do the task, they do it VERY VERY slowly. They just stand for 1-2 hours, and then they do it.

Oh and my sims, cant clean ANYTHING, and they cant put out the trash. My houses are full of trash, and plates. 😞

Things i tried to do to solve the problem:

  • Reinstall Windows (i tried it twice, i have Windows 10 Pro 64 bit)
  • Clean the dust out of my PC
  • Start a new game
  • Clear the inventories of the sims
  • Play in a smaller hosue, with no decoration
  • I did some tweaks in win 10 to get better performance at games
  • And I tried to install different Simulation Lag Fix, and Simulation Unclogger mods too.

And none of these methods worked. ☹️

Oh, and i am playing on the worst graphics.

Currently, the only thing i can do, is to spend like 600$ on my PC, to get an intel core i9 9900k, and some DDR4 RAM (i wanna buy 32 GB).

Am i the only one who has this problem?

Is there any chance to fix this?

Or does even upgrading my PC helps to reduce simulation lag?

Have a good day 🙂

  • @Yakko0601  Here are the official minimum and recommended requirements for playing the game:
    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues-PC/READ-FIRST-Make-sure-you-meet-minimum-requirements-PC-Mac/m-p/6420780#M102196

They are lower than what gets recommended by the players on this forum.

Here is a request by a SimGuru for saves that shows simulation lag:

You can also send saves through AHQ, see this post:

  • @Yakko0601  There are a number of causes of simulation lag, not only hardware issues, although those can certainly contribute.  In your case, your hardware should be able to run Sims 4 on ultra settings, provided it's performing as it should, but there are plenty of other possibilities.  It can often take some testing to figure out what's going on.

To that end, please try playing a new save in a clean user folder, to see how your system handles the game with no complicating factors at all.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Don't add anything to it yet; just let me know how a new save runs.

If you still get simulation lag in the new save, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

@Yakko0601  Try disabling your Bluestacks software: a few of the errors in your dxdiag are related to a component of it, and if it's running while you play, that could explain the issue.

Your dxdiag also lists a number of Sims 4 errors that may be related to the graphics driver.  There's a slightly newer driver available from Nvidia, so try installing that:

    https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/175537/en-us

Don't use GeForce Experience or any other driver update service; just download the driver and run it as an admin: right-click on the download and select "Run as administrator."  Choose the custom route and the option to perform a clean install.

If that doesn't help either, please try playing in a clean boot.

    https://www.windowscentral.com/how-clean-boot-windows-10

When you reboot, open the Task Manager and look through the background processes list for anything that doesn't absolutely need to be running.  (Not all programs are disabled in a clean boot, unfortunately.)  For anything you find, you can End Task; anything critical will restart itself, or at worst, you can reboot your computer to restart it.

While doing all of this, please continue to test on a new save in a clean Sims 4 folder, to keep things simple.

@Yakko0601   The biggest issue I see is it looks like you have three monitors hooked up each using different technologies. This game does some post graphics processing before output to the monitors. The sims 4 has had issues with multi monitors. I think it's a driver issue because I don't see it a lot although most of my clients only have one monitor attached. I recommend disconnecting 2 monitors and try the game and see if that resolves the problem. My computer is a AMD FX 6100 proc with a GTX 960 video card with no issues I have a FX 6300 proc around here some where but everything runs on it the way it is. I even have MS Flight Sim running on it. I have a Visio D43-D2 thats running at 120Hz refresh. I have been thinking of a new gaming rig because of the newer AMD chips and DDR 4 memory. With all the memory your using for video frame buffering I recommend you run that SSD as lean as you can.
