Since June 25 update: Issues with mouse actions

Since the latest game update (17/06/2025) my game is unplayable due to several issues:

  •  Live Mode: Unable to click or interact with objects or sims
  • Build Mode: Unable to use scroll wheel to turn camera and glitches with object placing, where it places the object and then won't let go.

I've already tried the following to troubleshoot, but no luck:

  • Tried different save file
  • Remove / disable mods
  • Repair game via EA app
  • Clear EA app cache
  • Clear game cache
  • Update graphics driver
  • Reset game settings

Any other suggestions?

puzzlezaddict Thanks so much for trying to help me! I tried as you've suggested and even reset my laptop to factory settings and reinstalled! After several weeks and even taking my laptop to a computer shop it turns out the cause of the issue was my mouse! It worked with everything else perfectly fine, but for some reason the sims did not like my wireless mouse! Something in the update must have done something, but the minute I tried again using a wired mouse, the whole game worked perfectly fine! 🙈

  • frizzybandit  I apologize for the late reply.  Have you tried playing in windowed mode yet?

If that doesn't or didn't help, disable any apps you use that come with overlays: Steam, Discord, etc.  Disable the EA App in-game overlay as well, under Settings > Application.

Hi, thanks so much for responding!

I opened in windowed and disabled all the overlays and it worked once, then when I closed the game and opened it again its back to not working 😭Before this, I also uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game and all my DLC (which is ALL the packs).

    Any other suggestions? 🙏🏼

  • frizzybandit  Did you restart your computer after it stopped working again?  I'm wondering whether something might still have been running, and therefore interfering.  You would of course need to disable all the overlays again after the restart.
