Do you have any Mods or CC? If so move your Mods folder to the Desktop and delete localthumbcache.package. Then test the game.
If it works now check for updates to your Mods and CC. Add it back a little at a time while testing until you have found all that are broken. - nerakdon6 years agoNew Novice@jpkarlsen My game has no Mods, no CC. Thanks for the suggestion, though!
I also deleted localthumbcache.package just in case, which also did not help. - nerakdon6 years agoNew Novice
I was able to work around the problem by aging the baby up to a toddler as normal, and then instead of saving:
- I typed 'testingcheats on' and then 'cas.fulleditmode', then shift-clicked the toddler to enter CAS, and then aged the sim up to a child.
- Then I saved successfully.
- Next, I shift-clicked the sim again and entered CAS. I aged the child back down to a toddler.
- I was then able to save the game with the sim at the correct age.
It's not a perfect solution, but it got my game saved, at least.
I got this so many times, it was like ground hog day! I found that because the baby was part alien, this seemed to be the glitch so I moved one parent and the baby out until it aged up, then moved them back to the main household and this seemed to do the trick!
