Some advice please
I've had a look at the post about minimum requirements and recommendations for being able to run sims 4 well. To be honest, I don't really understand what I'm looking at or for. I have 12.9gb of custom content.
Expansion packs I have: Discover university, Get to work, city living, get together, cottage living, snowy escape, cats and dogs, seasons, island living
Game packs I have: Vampires, Realm of Magic, Outdoor retreat, parenthood
Stuff packs: Tiny living, toddler stuff, fitness stuff
Kits: desert lux, throwback fit kit.
My computer specs that I find on "About" are
Processor AMD Ryzen 3 2200U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.50 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.66 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
I do remember my game definitely running better in the past. But some of my saves have incredibly long loading and saving times, and the simulation lag/lag in general makes those saves really not worth playing. On other saves, I still get lag. I haven't investigated to the point of having in detailed comparisons, but lets say some saves function a little better than others. I think the components of my laptop may be built in, so replacing parts is not an option I think I have. I think the only option is to buy a whole new laptop. But I have no idea what kinds of specs to look for. The only games I play are sims 4, sims 2, and minecraft. sims 2 runs great. sims 4 not at all. minecraft is alright. Basically if I get a new laptop/am able to buy better parts, I don't want to overkill. I'd rather not spend thousands on a gaming laptop when I just games on a casual basis. So I need some advice on what kinds of things to look out for. Good graphics cards, processers etc without breaking the bank.
Aside from getting a new laptop/new parts, is there anything I can do to improve performance? I am constantly trying to fine tune my cc but there must be other things I can do?
