starting my world fresh?

i am clicking the plus sign to start a new game. this takes me to create a sim and when i place in a world, it is still the old timeline (ie: not starting sunday morning, but whatever time i left off with my previous deleted sim) with any furniture changes i made with previous game also.... kinda frusterated.
