They have actually changed this to invitations.
I assume you don't have get together ? I'm unsure how it's working now for base game only.
I haven't had anyone showing up unless on new game.
I do have Get Together, but does this imply that sims will only come over upon inviting them? That can't be the case if what I've read from other people is the case.
I have them sometimes call me if they can come over but they never stop by on their own anymore.
Can you point me to someone saying they're getting random visitors still ?
You say, you still have them on the weekend ? So you have still Sims coming over, knocking on your door on the weekends ?

And yes, if I'm lucky on the weekend I'll have visitors come of their own volition, no phone call required.
