Stuck on loading screen

  • I am unable to play my sims 4 game at all. It will load to the main page and will load my save file but once I’m in my save file it won’t allow my play any families, go into build mode, create a new family, ect. It just stays loading for hours. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, I’ve repaired my game, checked mods, restarted my computer. Nothing works. I’ve never had this issue before the update

  • @03e06968276cd82e Hello, I hope I can help you somewhat resolve your issue!

NOTE : I don't work for EA. I'm a passionate gamer who enjoys hanging out on here and helping people fix their games. I will give as much info as I can, and will help to the best of my ability, but no solution I provide is 100% guaranteed to work (about 75%). I will not be held responsible for any damage to property or data loss you may experience during our interactions. This has NEVER happened to any of my clients, but I need to let you know 🙂 Thank you.

I have had this issue in the past, and I understand how annoying it is.
There are a few different solutions that you could try, but it depends on many factors of your PC.
I will give you a few methods to try :
    1. Make sure your PC is fully updated. Sometimes, our PCs haven't been updated for a while, and therefore games such as Sims 4 don't work very well, as they put strain on out-of-date devices.
    2. Clear Cache. It may be a problem with EA that is causing your game to lag and not load. Go to the three lines in the top left corner of the EA app homepage. Choose "Help" and then "Clear Cache". WARNING : This will restart your EA app. Clearing the EA app's cache can help relieve the app of unneeded data. All of your old game data will still be available, and stored in your PC's folders, so don't fret about that. It just stops old data from clogging up the EA app and making your games lag.
    3. Download the FREE version of Revo Uninstaller. There is absolutely no need to download the subscription, the free version does everything you will need. Once downloaded, use it to get rid of the EA app completely from your PC. Wait about an hour or so (to give it time to work) and then re-download the EA app. Log in to your main/current account. This is the method that worked for me.

If none of these methods work, I would recommend contacting a member of the EA support team on EA Help. Link to the website :

    Hope this helps xx 🙂
  • @03e06968276cd82e  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and let me know what problems, if any, persist.

If the game still gets stuck loading, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

If the new save in the clean folder works, copy one of your existing saves to the new Sims 4 folder, but only that save, nothing else yet, and test it too.  Let me know how it goes.
