Stuck on "Verifying Game Files"

I have the Sims 4 Limited Edition Disc version and I can play it offline, but when I go online it says there is an update. ( I have had this issue since it has first released). I have not been able to play online at all. I click on update and it goes straight to saying "Verifying Game Files" and it goes on for about 30 minutes to an hour and then says download failed. I have a good internet connection so idk what the problem is but I would like to play online.

Can anyone help me please? :c

I have the same problem. If this gets fixed, can you email me on [edit: email address removed] and tell me what you did. Thanks!

    I've tried this:

    1) Reinstalling origin

    2) Deleted all sims folders

I've done them but when I logg straight back on it still carrys on with verifying the game.

I just want to play on the sims 4!!

This has worked for me :

    1. Go to control panel.
    2. Go to Internet options.
    3. Click the connections tab and at the bottom of the window click on LAN SETTINGS.
    4. uncheck the option Use a proxy server for your LAN.
    5. Click Apply.
    6. Close Origin restart the program and computer.

If this doesn't work , your antivirus or firewall could be blocking your connection, try to add origin in your firewall list

    Hope this helps  🙂
