Sudden Lag and Frame Delay Issues in Sims 4

I'm experiencing heavy lag and frame delay in Sims 4 suddenly that's been impacting both Create-A-Sim and gameplay. The issues include: - General lag and slow responses to clicks - Choppy graphics...

    @lollipopsurpreme  Please remove your serial number from your previous post—it's personal information that shouldn't be shared.  Having said that, it did help me confirm that HP doesn't offer drivers for this product.  I actually think the site is broken because it only shows Citrix as a possible OS, and even after selecting it, the page just refreshes.

    Anyway, I did find another driver download page from HP that offers exactly the same driver as what you have installed.  So you can try that instead:

    Under Driver-Graphics, grab the third entry, the AMD driver with version numbe 31.0.12044.3.  Then proceed with the clean uninstall and reinstall.

    This driver should install without issues, but if you get an error, just go back online and let Windows find an appropriate driver for you.  This is less precise than manually installing your preferred driver, but Windows should at least find one that works, and if not, there are ways to force the install of the driver you want.  Let me know if you need help with that, but hopefully it won't be necessary.

@lollipopsurpreme  Thanks for the dxdiag, which makes the issue clear: there's a problem with your computer's installed graphics driver or perhaps the graphics chip itself.  But before doing anything else, please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:

  • Hit Windows key-X
  • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
  • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
  • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
  • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
  • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
  • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
  • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

For the error with the graphics driver, the best thing to do is to clean-uninstall and reinstall the driver, as described here:

You can get another copy of the appropriate driver from HP.  Go here:

Enter your computer's serial number, choose the OS (just Windows 11 is fine) if prompted, and you'll land on the driver download page.  Rather than allowing HP to check for updates, you'll need to do this manually.  Click All Drivers, then Driver-Graphics, and find the newest AMD driver.  Download a copy before starting the uninstall process since you'll be offline for the entire time.

    @puzzlezaddict Hi! following the basic checks and entering “sfc /scannow”  the result was 

    *Message Received*  Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
    For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
    windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
    repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

    *Updates and Security* Following the steps provided I checked for updates and there was an available update so I installed and restarted 

    *Graphics Driver* Following the steps to uninstall and reinstall my graphics driver, I entered my serial number on the site and had the result of  "There is no software or drivers available for your product." for reference it's the Hp All-In-One.

    I haven't checked back in the game yet from the steps followed so far as I'm not sure how to do the next process of getting the newest driver/clean uninstalling and reinstalling the graphics driver

        @puzzlezaddict Oh my gosh, Thank you so much it worked !! I’ve been so anxious to play again; I truly appreciate you and all of your help with getting my game back, you’re a life saver.
