The best cheap PC for Sims 4

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to purchase a desktop pc, but I need it to be good enough to run Sims 4 and maybe a few other games such as Dreamlight Valley. I already have a MacBook Pro, but am looking for an actual PC (the Mac is way out of my budget). I need it to be as cheap as possible whilst also looking quite slick (if that makes sense?). I'm not looking for one of the fancy gaming ones. I'm from the UK so typically I'm looking at places such as Curry's. I've attached a picture of the type of look I like. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you in advance!

  • @JaseyRaeXx  I take it this means you're looking for an all-in-one desktop?  These almost always contain laptop hardware, just in a different chassis, and as such are more limited than traditional desktops.  They're also a little more expensive than comparable laptops and can easily be more expensive than an entry-level gaming PC.  Still, if you want one, it's easy enough to find some options.

I do need to know your budget though.  "As cheap as possible" can have very different meanings, especially when the very cheapest options will likely run Sims 4 quite poorly.  Dreamlight Valley also has higher recommended specs than Sims 4, although that doesn't necessarily mean a lot; my point is that a low-end AIO may not give you good performance in that game either.

@puzzlezaddict thank you!! I appreciate your help a lot! I’m looking around 600, I know it’s not a lot and probably won’t get me what I’m after, but all of my other devices are the more expensive apple products and I can’t spend that type of money on this!

@JaseyRaeXx  I found a few options that are essentially equivalent for under £600, all of which should run Sims 4, all current packs included, on medium-high or high graphics settings.  This one is by far the best price:

In case it's sold out or not available in your area, these two are alternatives.  The first has a bigger screen; the second has 16 GB RAM, which is nice to have but not necessary (and not worth paying £130 extra).  They should all be in the same performance category, although the one from Box might be a few percentage points slower in Sims 4.

I checked another half-dozen sites and saw a number of variations on the configurations above, all around £600, so you do have more options.  But none of the others were better than the first one I linked, so given its price, I figured it wasn't worth getting into all those other options unless you really didn't like that one.
