Solved

the requested operation requires elevation of privileges

Sorry, i have no idea how it will be in english so i try my best to explain my issue.

After the update from September 18, 2024, I am unable to run the game at all. But from the beginning, a few months ago, Epic was giving away some packs for free, I didn't have one, so I linked my EA and Epic accounts (worst decision in my life) and everything was fine for some time. Then I didn't have time to play for some time, so when I wanted to run the game after this break, it turned out that I was stuck in eternal loading, I found a thread here on the forum about this problem, none of these solutions worked for me, but I discovered that starting the game was not possible due to The EA app only works through Epic, so I left it at that - I just launched the game through Epic and this solution worked for some time - until yesterday. After a long break from the game, I wanted to run it again, it forced an update, so I did it, and from then on, every time I try to run it, the message "the requested operation requires elevation of privileges" is displayed. To be precise, I am on an account with administrator privileges (even created second), I run both EA app and Epic as an administrator, both launchers and the game are added to exceptions in Windows Security (I do not have any other antivirus), the game was uninstalled and reinstalled, I have removed the mods folder and the reinstall after that, now the mods remain removed so the game is vanilla, I also repaired the game, cleared the cache, recovered the application, forced launcher updates. The update from 9/18 description says that now every AMD owner has automatically switched to DX11 (my computer supports DX12 so it should be ok), I found a thread that adding DX11 was not completed so I also tried to add -dx11 manually in the EA app - Sims 4 - manage - show properties - -dx11 and paste it also in the game shortcut as proposed before the update. And nothing, I have no idea what else to do, I'm out of ideas. Help...

  • @ReynaValdez and @lstlfiregaming  Please check whether you've set Sims 4 to run as an admin.  Right-click its desktop shortcut and select Properties.  The option would be there, and if it's present, please disable it.

If this doesn't help, please check both TS4_x64 and TS4_DX9_x64 within the game's program files.  They'll be here:

    [install location]\The Sims 4\Game\Bin

@ReynaValdez  Please remove the -dx11 command line argument as well.  It shouldn't be necessary and might complicate troubleshooting further.
