The Sims 4 Black Screen on Start
Black screen upon boot.
Whenever I launch The Sims 4 on my Windows 10 PC it shows a black screen. This issue started yesterday after I updated. I have not played since November so an update was necessary. When I launched the game it just showed a black screen and I couldn't do anything "behind" the window (ie. origin or other applications below the sims window. I had to open task manager on another monitor and close the game. I have tried multiple things and nothing has worked.
What I have tried already:
-Repairing the game through Origin
-Creating a new Sims 4 folder
-Reinstalling my graphics drivers
-Forcing the game to launch in windowed mode instead of fullscreen
-Reinstalling The Sims 4 and all my DLC
-Restarting my PC
Does anyone know how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
ps, my specs are high enough to run the game, as I've played hours on this machine at 4k settings.
Graphics card: Nvidia RTX 2070
Processor: Intel i7-7700k
Ram: 16 GB ddr4
@puzzlezaddict I tried all of those and nothing worked, then I tried to uninstall both The Sims 4 and Origin, then reinstall them and it worked! I'm now able to play using my old folder and all my saves/mods. Thank you so much for your help! You're a lifesaver.
