Custom content can be faulty or outdated. So if you get this error, you either downloaded something outdated or something that never worked in the first place or a recolor without the mesh.
You need to narrow down what could be the issue. There's several Mod conflict detector programs at Modthesims (just google) that can help you find the faulty one They don't always recognize everything though so if they don't find anything, you need to go through your custom content manually to find the guilty party.
You've replied to multiple people on this issue but it hasn't worked. I've reinstalled my game three times, renamed the folder and tested all my mods/cc. My game was bought through origin and it's not like I can buy it again, since my parents bought it for me.

Does the folder get re-created for you each time ? What's your OS ?

No, it doesn't get re-created. My Mac is OS 10.11.4

Then it might be a permission problem for you. The error also occurs if there's problems accessing the folder.
Since you're on a mac, I suggest you post in the mac forum: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-Mac/bd-p/The-Sims-Mac for better help.
