the sims 4 cats and dogs game issue, all sims are missing

since downloading the sims 4 cats and dogs earlier today, my game loads fine but no sims are present, i can create a family and move them into a lot but then i cant play them and within the manage households, no sims are there, what do i do?  i'm getting really frustrated now, ive spent alot of money on this game series but i cant play it now without having the actually sims there!!!!!

    that's exactly what my problem was. I don#t know what causes that issue, but in my case creating a brand new sims 4 file, fixed the problem. I uploaded my families in the gallery so I didn't loose them. maybe you can try that @mandkirst
