The Sims 4 Moodlet/Character Profile Glitch

 Hi,

I've been having a problem with my game. I found out today that this is happening on every one of my saves. I have no idea how this happened, or how to fix it. I've searched, and haven't found anyone with the same problem. Not to mention, it's a difficult glitch to put into words. I was playing, and I saved my game. Suddenly, my Sim in the profile corner disappeared, and the moodlets turned a blank light blue. I also couldn't select any of my other Sims. I was finished playing for the day, anyway, and figured that if I restarted my game it would fix itself when I played the next time. However, when I loaded it today, the problem persisted. I don't remember doing anything that caused it to happen. I've tried recovering a previous save and moving my Sim to a different lot, but the problem remained.

If anyone has any clue how to fix this, please inform me!

NOTICE: I've tried multiple times to provide screenshots, but for some reason, I'm unable to.

Are you on Mac or PC?

    1. If you have any mods move the mods folder to the desktop.
Delete localthumbcache.package file in the game folder and fix the game in Origin.
Origin/Library -right click on TS4 - option "Repair game"
You have to wait until Origin will fix all packs, not only the base game.
Turn on the game to create a new, empty mods folder.
Check if a game is working now without mods. Then copy from desktop your mods and CC and paste it in the new mods folder. First, paste script mods every time checking if the game is OK. Do the same with CC but if you have a lot of this, try the 50/50 method ( divide your CC into smaller batches for example 50 pieces in one subfolder and check these subfolders one by one) You need to find a culprit and either remove it or replace it with an updated version

    2. If you don't have CC or mods delete this file and fix the game also. The game will create the same new file but without saved errors.

    3. ft it will not help try doing the factory reset as described in this post:

I had this problem as well. Even after I updated on my mods. For me it turned out it was modded CC traits. After testing it with no mods that all the game was fine I could pull out the SIM profile. I added each of my mods back in slowly one at a time to 3 at a time to see which one what's causing the problem. I eventually got to my mods folder with my custom traits when I started the game it started with the problem of showing me the whole Sim profile, then only part of the whole The Sims profile. And then wouldn't pull it up at all. Without the custom content traits it pulls up just fine with all my other mods updated

  • @kay0396 I have this problem too. Is it always going to be something in the traits or might it be something different do you think?
  • I had the same problem as you, and if you happen to have MCCC in your game, its probably the one thats causing the issue.
