The Sims 4 updating.

I've been trying to update the Sims 4, for over a week now. It continues to say, " your download has been paused." next sentence, " origin needs to download files and is waiting for permission. please choose yes, when windows prompts you for permission."

Every time I waited for a window to pop up to allow me to push yes, I never got a window to allow me to press yes. I have sent in more than 10 error reports complaining about this issue, but it has yet to be resolved.

The update goes to about 8% and the window pops up saying your download has been paused.

I've re downloaded origin, and even went online to see how I could fix this issue, I have found no further information on fixing this issue.

please help me fix this issue.

hi, i have the same problem and i cant update sims, need urgent help...

  • I would suggest clearing out your Origin Cache files as well as resetting your host file. If that doesn't work, you may have to look at manually removing Origin.

    http://help.ea.com/en/article/manually-uninstalling-origin/

    - Control panel> view by large icons> folder options> view tab> show hidden folders
    - C drive> program Data> Delete Origin folder, EA Core, EA logs, Electronic Arts
    - C drive> user> username> app data> local> delete Origin> roaming> delete Origin
    - C drive> windows> system 32> drivers> etc> delete host file>
    - Restart computer
