The Sims 4 Video Card Error (Can't apple the 3D Manager settings in Nvidia)

Hey guys,

I haven't played The Sims 4 quite some time now and recently wanted to play but I got the Unable to start error (0e6d1221:1df4e8dc:80010000:00000000).

I've looked at this link https://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/cant-run-with-the-video-card-in-this-system/  and realized my problem. Sims 4 is trying to run with my chip instead of my graphics card(gtx 760). I go to my Nvidia Control Panel -> Manage 3D settings -> Program Settings -> ts4_x64.exe -> add. But I realize I don't have the "Select the preferred graphics processor for this program:" section or the "Apply" button at the bottom right corner. I have tried by clicking the add button but I still get the same error.

My computer meets the minimum requirement and I also turned off Origin in game and plus my graphics card is up to date.

I have attached my PC DxDiag and a picture of what my Nvidia Control Pannel looks like.

If anyone knows how to fix this please help.....

  • Hi @iAychenAlpha

    please try the following things

    1. See if it starts in Windowed Mode: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/the-sims/the-sims-4/playing-the-sims-4-in-windowed-mode/
    2. Turn off Origin In Game
    3. If you have a dual graphics system, make sure the game runs on the card and not the chip
    4. Uninstall and reinstall your graphics drivers
    5. Rollback to earlier graphics dirvers
    6. Right click on the game in Origin and press repair game

    test after each step

Your computer should be perfectly capable of running the game.

    Good Luck and Happy Gaming
