The sims won't repair

A few days ago while using a shortcut to play the sims on PC I got some sort of error and instead of the normal version opening I got the legacy version instead, honestly I had no idea I even had that installed. Then I had issues repairing the game and it wouldn't show me the game information and I was unable to repair it. A bit later I did try to repair it beacuse it also asked me to do so, said some files were corrupted. I have tried taking out my mods but that doesn't do anything. The repair progress will get to a 100% and then it'll say that ''something went haywire''. The progress bar also sometimes skips between 0%, 40% and 60% or will stop entirely for a while. It also doesn't show how fast it's downloading and after it gets to a 100% it pauses and there is no way to unpause it.

  • @sibuladpeenral It's most likely your antivirus quarantining the TS4_x64.exe file, this always triggers the legacy edition. Make sure you check your antivirus quarantine, give exceptions to Origin/EA app, TS4_x64.exe and maybe even the documents/electronic arts location, where your user data for the game is stored.

if a repair or a reinstall fails, you can also try to run Origin/EA app as administrator, but the antivirus exceptions should be a good start for that as well.
