The Sims4 is already running: EA App

Hi, i am hoping that someone can help me as I have yet to see anyone else with my issue. I have the EA App and EA Play. I am trying to launch the SIMS 4 but everytime i try i just get the error message that: The Sims4 EA Play edition is already running. I got the sims 4 before i had ea play and I have checked my task manager and it is defintely not running. i have also tried clearing my cache and several other options. Please someone help!

    @Drimcomtru  Please set EADesktop.exe as an allowed app as well.  This is separate from the App Recovery tool.

    If that doesn't help, please describe your issue in more detail.  Please also let me know whether OneDrive is running on this computer, even if you never use it.

    In case this is still a problemw ith anyone since a lot of the suggestions here doesn't work.

    Apparently One Drive was causing the issue for me. Decided to unlink the PC from one drive and suddenly the game would boot up for me.
