Trouble downloading The Sims 4 onto MacBook Air

I have been downloading The Sims 4 for three days and 5 hours now. Yes, I do have slow internet, but it is getting very ridiculous now. First, I had trouble getting Origin to download, then I couldn't login because I was "offline." Of course, I wasn't. After resolving those issues, I finally started the actual download of the game and it has been going for the full three days and five hours. The other issues happens before that. The game made it to 93% last night. I went to bed with peace that it would finally be finished in the morning. Woke up this morning to it being on 92%. Not only had it not finished, it had went BACKWARDS. So I sat and I waited until it got to 98% (took about 5 more hours) and guess what! It went back to 90%. I searched the web for people with similar problems. I read several times to start over the download. I'm NOT doing that since it's already taken a ridiculous amount of time. Anyway, I finally found that putting Origin into "safe mode" downloading would resolve the problem. So I did this and it reached back up to 95% to only fall back to 89%. So here I am. At my wits end. About to give up on this game. Any suggestions? Btw, is this game really worth all of this turmoil??? First time Origin user and first time simmer besides the Freeplay app.

  • If you can find a place to download with a faster internet, it will probably not take long. Be careful though as the Macbook Airs can overheat with playing the game for long stretches.

Thanks so much for the reply! I left it loading again last night, and when I woke up, it had loaded! So whatever the issue was, it resolved itself. Also, thank you for the warning! I'll keep a watch on not playing too long!
