trying to move my electronic arts folder to my external ssd drive

I need desperate help cause this is so frustrating...

I thought I could simply drag and drop my electronic arts folder onto my external hard drive and it would work since I put my actual game onto the external ssd drive (or well hard drive I should say) but no that clearly didn't work since i boot up my game and none of my saves were there and started out as if I was just opening the game for the very first time

I saw another post relating to the same topic where someone said do the windows method by relocating the actual documents folder and putting it onto the external hard drive, tried that and it didn't work. It said something relating to file being open in another location or same file whatever and access denied. Then someone suggested the symoblic link and i've spent days trying to use that method and it's even worse even after I followed the tutorial closely and it would just tell me that the file is open in another location or some other crap...

I'm literally so frustrated cause I did everything I could and literally nothing is working
