Two Sims 4 folders in separate drives

I have two instances of The Sims 4, one in my C: drive (SSD) and my D: drive (HDD). I was wondering if I can uninstall or remove it from my SSD to free up space for other games? I tried uninstalling it from the Uninstall menu and it only shows the one on the D: drive. I have converted from Origin to Steam, so that might be the issue, I haven't uninstalled it from the Origin launcher, but I think it needs to have access to Origin regardless. I just need help. I've attached screenshots, but I don't know if they will help. I appreciate any help or assistance in the right direction.

Kind Regards

  • @cryobearzz  What's inside the Sims 4 folder on C?  Sometimes Origin creates a second folder for the game's program files and dumps a bit of data in there, but that data is extraneous and can be safely deleted.  If you only see a small portion of the game's full program files—compare this to the one on D for reference—then that's probably what's happened on your computer as well.  If you're not sure what you're looking at, feel free to post screenshots of each folder's contents.

While there's always a chance that the files on C are in fact essential, at worst, all you'd need to do would be to repair the game and/or redownload the missing files.  You won't permanently break anything by nuking that folder.

  • this exact same thing is happening to me in the ea app, except for i think its downloading 3 files of sims 4 folder and 2 electronic arts folder, one in my c and one in my d with the 2 sims 4 folders, and even when i do delete it, it comes back, this makes it very hard to play a moded game

@ghoul133  Please take screenshots of the contents of each Sims 4 folder you see and post them here.  I'd like to know what's inside each folder so I can figure out whether they belong there.
