UI disappears after taking pics of the artist at the festival

Hi

Did the update, mods/CC all updated and game running fine, played for the last few hours. First time my played sims had gone to the festival, after the 2nd act, I took photos of the act and then the UI disappeared. The only button clickable (not even the sims were clickable), was the map button and I tried to save and go to manage worlds from there but it didn't work. I somehow entered the BB mode but I have no clue which lot I was on whether I was still at the festival or elsewhere as the screen was completely back with a flashing text box-I've attached a screenshot (I couldn't take pictures in game during this to capture it).

When looking to see if anyone else had experienced it, I saw the thread re: anti-virus blocking Origin/The Sims access and some say their pics weren't working-after the update my ingame pictures disappeared which I'm pretty annoyed about as it was for the last 4 months and I was using them for a storybook. Anyway, the .exe's are allowed access so its not that. 

I had to force exit using Task Manager which is the first time since release I've had to do that. I'll see if it does it again at the next festival.
