Unable to connect in-game

I downloaded the patch with no problems and the Origin app connects to the internet just fine, but when I load the Sims and try to connect to the community or click on unowned game packs it prompts me to connect to the internet, and then tells me that 'there is no internet connection' (which of course there definitely is!). I've added Origin and The Sims to my firewall exclusions but this doesn't seem to have helped.

Any advice anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

  • Thanks but that's not it. I checked just in case but I was using the gallery etc before without issue.

Could someone please give me a list of the full filenames of all the programs The Sims requires to connect to the internet? (Standard installation on Windows 10, so I assume everyone's file names are the same?)

If I can copy and paste them into the exceptions then I can make sure that I got them all. The more I think about it the more I think it's my security being overly enthusiastic, as I had them same problem when it blocked the app store and the Instagram app kept telling me there was no connection also :/

    Apologies!
