Unable to start Video Card does not meet minimum spec
Hello,
After parsing through the forums, none of the solutions I have found have fixed my issue so I am posting here.
I am getting the "Unable to start: Can't run The Sims 4 with the video card in this system. Please check that the video card meets the minimum specifications and that the latest video drivers are installed. [0e6d1221:1df4e8dc:0000012d:912c9c10]".
I am on a desktop PC with a single RTX 2060, two monitors, AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and 32GB of RAM. I have updated my video drivers yesterday while trying to fix the issue. I know some games have difficulty running with Citrix installed so I attempted to remove the Citrix display driver and it did not fix the issue. I also previously tried to run the game in windowed mode and without the EA App overlay but that did not fix the issue too. I also tried the game both directly from the EA App and on Steam and it did not change the result. I am running out of options so I am posting here hoping someone may have a solution.
I have a feeling the issue could come from the fact that I have several development software as my personal computer also acts as my work PC. Things like Visual Studio, .Net SDKs, game engines, Citrix, Parsec, etc. I am also using a USB Audio Interface.
I have attached my DxDiag to this post.
Have a great day!
Hello,
I managed to fix my game by reinstalling Windows 10 altogether.
At some point, I decided to update all my drivers from the motherboard to the network adapter. The network driver failed to update and uninstalled my previous version. It left my PC in a state where it could no longer install any drivers and no network access. Seeing how much time it was taking to troubleshoot, I realized it would take less time to back up my C drive and do a clean install of Windows. Thankfully I was already backing up most of my data so two hours was all it took.
Thank you for taking the time to reply to my post. I really appreciate it.
Have a great day!
