Unable to weed plants

Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.74.59.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? All of them to date (21st May 2021)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Grow an Avocado Tree and wait for weeds to grow.
What happens when the bug occurs? I try to weed my Avocado tree, and I can’t.
What do you expect to see? My Sims to be able to remove the weeds from the Avocado tree.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
So I made a new save and household, and downloaded a house from the gallery, which had a garden in. I’ve not usually had gardens to keep up with in my usual games so I’ve never seen this.
I would see that there would be weeds, on a variety on plants/trees, so I’d get my sims to weed them, and they could weed all of them except from the Avocado tree, whether it was fully grown or not. If I would get then to “Tend to garden” to try and weed it, they would be stuck there for hours.
I tried getting help off of EA Help on Twitter who told me to just “Repair” the game, which worked the first time, but then it happened again, and Repairing the game wasn’t working.
So I don’t know what to do now, and I need help, because it is quite annoying!
