uncompressed sim textures causing crashes

ever since the initial skin tone update, i have been experiencing frequent crashing and freezing any time i have uncompressed sim textures turned on. I have a fairly nice gaming laptop and was always able to play on ultra graphics up until the update. since then I have had to switch to low graphics and laptop mode. I do play with a certain well known NSFW mod which recently underwent a huge patch because of the skin tone update but i immediately removed it to see if it was making things worse - no matter if mods are enabled or disabled, the problem persists. I just want to be able to play my game and have the right graphics settings again. i've tried troubleshooting and repairing my game for weeks now and i've finally given up. please help!

    Hi @friedn00dles666 

    Could you please post the following info

    1. Your Computer's DxDiag
    2. If you have, the following file: Documents\electronic arts\the sims 4\lastcrash.txt
    3. The following file: Documents\electronic arts\the sims 4\config.log

    You can upload DxDiag and config.log directly to your post.

    For any lastCrash files, either create a rar file and upload that or copy/paste the content of the file to a post inside spoiler tags (the icon next to the strike-through)

    @friedn00dles666 The crash logs all say that those are from a modded game.

    Could you try a fresh folder and start a new game and see if it crashes as well. If it does, please upload those crash logs.

    If not, try just putting your save back and see if it then crashes.
