Uneven Lighting
When building, it is difficult to evenly light paintings and wall-mounted art that is placed close to the ceiling. Often this lighting behaves in ways that I have a hard time predicting. For example, this screenshot is of several Omiscan art pieces, a Totecallam and Zazatotl statue (scaled down) and two glyphs (original size). They are lit by four ceiling-mounted lights of two types (the second saucer light scaled down).
As you can see, the Totecallam and Zazatotl pieces are (mostly) evenly lit while the glyphs (tree and water, both with the faded color option) are so dark that they're barely visible.Perhaps I would think that, simply, wall art is not visible at certain heights in a room. However...
This is a view of two glyphs on the opposite side of the same room placed at the same height. They are lit by three ceiling-mounted lights, two hanging and one sized-down saucer overlapping the left hanging lamp. While the glyph on the left has slightly better lighting than the glyphs on the opposite side of the room, the glyph on the right is very well-lit. The glyph on the left's lighting my have to do with it being opposite windows or because I turned up the lighting quality setting (this did not improve the lighting for the glyphs by the statues), but that doesn't explain why the glyph on the right is so visible. Why is this happening? (I should note, placing ambient lights near these glyphs only seems to exacerbate the problem).
