Unrecognised Video Card - Windows 11

Yesterday I got a pop-up saying that the video card could not be recognised. This is the case, as I've checked in the config log. I followed various "fixes" online and nothing has helped! I have started in windowed mode, and placed a copy of the graphicscard.sgr into the ConfigOverride folder, and nothing. I've taken my mods out and still the issue persists. I had an issue with my Sims 3 the other day as well and the same pop-up came up, but that seemingly resolved itself even if I lost my saves.

I had installed some custom content and my Sims 3 broke, but I fixed that. The video card pop-up did come up there too, but everythings working fine. It seems concidental that both should break. I did play with the Onedrive settings because the files upload to onedrive and I had no space left, but reverted it back to how it was and everything was still broken!

  • @ii33y__  Please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Please also post the first 40 or so lines of DeviceConfig.log, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3, and of Config.log, inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.  You can delete your user and computer names, about 20 lines down; the files don't contain any other personal information.  These files show what GPU each game is using and whether it's recognized.

In both games, you should only see the unrecognized video card error once, but deleting the user folder, or just Options.ini inside it, will trigger the error again.  This doesn't mean that your card was recognized in the interim, only that the games don't keep showing the error.

Let me know if you want to fix the OneDrive issue as well.
