How to add your Card to the database
You will need to add your card to GraphicsCards.sgr which can be found here: \programs(x86)\Origin\SIMS 4\The Sims 4\Game\Bin (Path may vary depending on where you have your game installed). Make sure to backup the original file before making changes to it.
- Make sure the game is closed
- Locate the following file in your installation folder: (usually C:\programs(x86)\Origin_Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin): GraphicsCards.sgr
- Create a copy of the file as backup
- Open the file with any text editor
- Search for 0x5916
- Your search should find the following line:
card 0x5916 "Intel (R) HD 620" $cardLevelMedium $resolutionMedium
- Create a new line below that one and copy and paste that line. In the new line replace 0x5916 with 0x5917
- Save the file
- Start the game
- You should no longer receive the error.
- To check if the card is now properly recognized, check the file config.log in documents\electronic arts\the sims 4 and open that with a text editor. It should now say: Found: 1 Supported 1 next to your card.
I done all that. Thank your for the help. Do you know what else I can do? It still says "your video card is not recognised". Question: Step 7 I copied the line and put the same line with 17 under. Should I also before I save remove the line that says 16 over? Maybe that was my mistake.
Still says: Name (database): [Found: 0, Supported: 1]
