Hello! I found this fix on tiktok via google but it worked for me when mine got stuck too.
On the EA app, go to the top right LEFT where "file" usually would be on apps with the 3 little lines. Then, "Help", then "App Recovery". Clear the Cache. The app will restart. After the restart of the EA app, it wouldn't reopen for me but I restarted my computer then the Sims 4 update worked with issue. I just did this a moment ago on 6/14/24
that didn't work for me, but it worked through the start menu. i clicked on app recovery and then restarted the game.
