User not entitles to language - but repairing installs wrong language
Hi
My daughter has been occasionally playing Sims 4 on my PC (EA app, part of EA Play subscription). Today we have created her own EA profile and installed Sims 4, which is now free (I actually didn't know that). Since the game was already installed on this computer, the game did not download and install, it just refreshed and appeared in the games list. When hit Play button, game crashed with an error: The current user is not entitled to run The Sims 4 in the installed language. My EA account was set to English language. Her account was initially set to Polish (since then I've changed it also to English). I have repaired the game and now the game starts but in Czech language on both accounts.
What the heck is going on and how to fix this to run the game in English on both accounts on the same PC?
@n4cho_SixtySix Some regions still receive a language-locked version of Sims 4. Since the game is now free to play, we're hoping that will change, but in the interim, there's nothing you can do on your end to enable English for your daughter's account. She's already received the Polish/Russian/Czech version, and your only option there is to contact EA customer support and have it removed from her account.
For your account, you should be able to switch back to English without uninstalling and reinstalling the entire game, but you'll need to install Origin, at least temporarily. You can download it from here:
Open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, select Game Properties > Advanced Launch Options, select English from the dropdown menu, and let Origin repair. Then test the game.
If Origin thinks you don't own Sims 4, I would recommend NOT redeeming your free copy, as you may also receive the language-locked version, depending on where you live. Instead, uninstall the game itself and download it again from the EA App.
