[V] Unplayed Born Vampire Given Different (Natural) Skin Tone for 'Dark Form'

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
What is your current game version number? 1.71.86.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? eco lifestyle, discover university, get famous, seasons, cats and dogs, city living, get together, get to work; realm of magic, strangerville, jungle adventure, vampires, dine out; nifty knitting, tiny living; moschino, laundry day, toddler, vintage glamour, romantic garden, movie hangout, spooky, perfect patio
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have some vampires with born (not turned) vampire children; wait for the children to age up and for their dark form to develop.
What happens when the bug occurs? the vampire's dark form is a different skin tone (and in the natural skin tone range) from their regular form.
What do you expect to see? I expect the vampire's dark form to be the same skin tone as their regular form or, if anything, to be one of the vampire/undead skin tones from the misc. category.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

I cannot for my life replicate the bug in an unmodded save, but I also don't know what mod I could have that would cause this bug (e.g., I don't use cc skin tones). It's happened at least twice in my current save file. It could be the result of specifically a vampire offspring of a non-occult and vampire; it could be the result of parents with a specific difference in skin tones; it could be related to the size of the save file as I've played through three generations (maybe the game just gets lazy with generating dark forms?).

I'm reporting in case others have come across similar issues. It's likely related to other genetic weirdness with the skin tones - I know sometimes vampires are given a 'vampire' skin tone for their dark form, but this is one of the normal skin tones.

  • @SerenaBeanie Moving this to tech as you say you can't repro on a non-modded game.

The bug forum is for bugs without mods only.

If someone has this on an unmodded game, I'll move it back

Meanwhile, maybe someone knows what mod causes it.
