*VERY* Laggy Mouse when using Gallery

Hi there.

Just as the subject says. Basically the second I click the gallery button, my mouse starts lagging like crazy. 100% unplayable. It persists even after closing the gallery; I have to restart the game. I took my mods out, and that didn't help. I also tried clearing the caches. I reinstalled origin, and the game, still nothing. This started happening during the plant sim event. A couple nights ago just for lols, I changed the game to run in 32-bit, and hilariously that solved it, but then I installed the Parenting pack and it's broken again. Any ideas? Obviously the solution is to just avoid the gallery, but honestly I'm not so great at making houses or lots. 😃

Edit: It's related to my connection to the gallery, it seems. When I open the gallery, I get a white screen that just has all the information at the bottom (x-amount of creations, x-amount of people) but nothing actually loads. My internet connection as a whole is actually perfectly fine, it's just Sims 4 for some reason... I have no idea how to go about resolving that. 🤔

  • My game is doing the same thing except only when in live mode. It started once I downloaded parenthood as well. So frustrating! I was originally thinking that I needed a new computer but hoping it can be fixed.

Mine has started doing it in live mode as well as of this morning. Wasn't doing it last night. This is super weird.

@crinrict As soon as I figured out it was a connection issue, I turned off my antivirus and firewall, no dice. I'm really at a loss. The only change I've made to my computer is the PSU, and that was an upgrade. I went from 500W to 650W.

Here ya go. My CPU and mobo are definitely pretty ancient at this point, though it's never been an issue with Sims 4 before.

Yeah, that processor is a bit oldish.

Did you try lowering the settings ? Are you going to the gallery from the main screen or from within your save ? If you do it from the save, is it also lagging from the main menu ?

It lags either way. I did try lowering the settings, toggling V-sync, not a single change, not even a little. I started avoiding the gallery and all was well, except now, like the person above, it's become a problem in live mode as well. It's fine on pause, but the mouse lags right away upon unpausing. Everything else is smooth, just the mouse. I went ahead and tried it in windowed, as well. It's all just really weird. It wasn't lagging in live mode last night. Hmm. 🤔

At this point, it's just kind of funny to me that I can run Skyrim, Witcher 3, and ironically even Sims 3 on their highest settings but for some reason Sims 4 just crosses a line 😃
