Visual glitch

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.109.207.1020 DX11
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Vampires, Toddler Stuff, Tiny Living, Spa Day, Seasons, Romantic Garden Stuff, Realm of Magic, Lovestruck, Perfecf Patio, Pastel Pop, Parenthood, Outdoor Retreat, Nifty Knitting, Moonlight Chic, Modern Luxe, Simtimates Collection, Luxury Party, Laundry Day, Kids Room, Island Living, Home Chef Hustle, Holiday Celebration, High School, Growing Together, Greenhouse Haven, Get Together, Get to Work, Get Famous, Everyday Clutter, Eco Lifestyle, For Rent, Dream Home Decorator, Discover University, Dine Out, Desert Luxe, Decor to the Max, Cottage Living, Cool Kitchen, City Living, Cats and Dogs, Carnaval Streetwear, Bust the Dust, Industrial Loft, Book Nook, Blooming Rooms, Bathroom Clutter, Basement Treasures, Crystal Creations, Street Eats, Outdoor Playtime, Bonus Content.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Any PC system overlay presenting when Sims 4 window open.
What happens when the bug occurs? The pop-up creates a visual glitch only where it has popped up, e.g the volume pop-up when system volume is adjusted creates a small box of visual glitch that will not go away until game is shut down. Also appears when the sims 4 window is collapsed and brought back, but the glitch is screen wide. Happens in-game and even in main menu.
What do you expect to see? The pop-ups working and the game continuing to play unaltered.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

@Clarkykins007 Moving this to the tech forum. Possible issue with the graphics card

Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

    - Press Windows-Key + R
    - Type: DxDiag
    - Click on Save all Information.
    - Attach the Text File to your post

Someone else will assist you further.
  • Many thanks, I have attached the file as instructed and hope for some answers soon! Thanks for all your help, Crin.

  • @Clarkykins007  The driver for your laptop's graphics chip is almost four years old and is probably not compatible with the DirectX 11 version of Sims 4.  But it's simple enough to install the newest driver available from AMD:

    https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/drivers.html/processors/ryzen/ryzen-4000-series/amd-ryzen-5-4500u.html

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.

Since your dxdiag lists a few generic Windows update errors, I would also suggest running a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

All completed, the secondary Powershell Scan threw up this message:
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.
