What happens if I delete the events.ini file?

The Grim Reaper event stopped working after the first week.  If I delete the events.ini file in my sims 4 folder, what will happen?

  • @MissXEmpress  The file holds cached data and will be recreated.  Deleting it might be a useful troubleshooting step in general, but it's not related to the login events.  The file worth deleting is accountDataDB.package, in the same folder.

Thanks for replying @puzzlezaddict,. I do not know if I deleted that file, but when I deleted the events one, it opened up the other weeks.  The only problem I am having is that I can progress through the other weeks and get the rewards but the weeks after the first are not checked off like the first week.  Maybe there’s something clashing with these two files? I do not know.  But that’s what has happened for me.

@MissXEmpress  Have you completed all tasks for a given week?  The reason I ask is because usually nothing gets checked off in the rewards panel until all tasks listed under one plumbob have been completed.  A couple of screenshots might be helpful.

At this moment, I just realized that I’m getting the rewards but Week 2 is incomplete but I am on Week 3, getting ready to catch fish.  But, yes, I completed Week 1, and in an effort to get the other week tasks going I deleted my initial game and restarted with a new game.

I should add, after deleting the ini file, the first week task was deemed complete but the task to get the letter from the mail would not go away.  After completing the new tasks for the second week, it resolved itself and the first week tasks were gone.  There is no option or opportunity to actually restart the event, so it just continues and revolves itself..

@MissXEmpress  It's normal to see the tasks on the rewards panel.  What I meant was in live mode, when you can actually complete the tasks, I only see the tasks for the week I'm working through.  "Catch three fish" is part of Digging Holes, from week 2; other tasks are to order more seeds, plant apple and cherry trees, and fertilize two plants.  I believe week 3 has a "catch an angelfish" task.

I haven't tried to complete tasks for a later week than what the game shows me, i.e. week 3 tasks while I'm still on week 2.  I'd be interested to know whether you're getting the points from that.

@puzzlezaddict, yes, I know, but I was not seeing the tasks in game after week one.  When I clicked on the reaper icon it took me to the challenge for the week, but no activities were showing in game.  The only thing I can say, is I for sure is that I did delete the ini file and most likely deleted the DB file, too.  I did not reinstall the Sims 4, but I deleted my game and started fresh.  I suppose, I should have explained that the pictures were all after the fact.  Sorry for mis-communicating this and the misunderstandings.
