when i type cheats, nothing will work

Hi i was wondering if any of you kind people would help me

Today when i went on to sims 4, i tried to type in cheats, and it says "Unable to process command" and i am just like 'Okayyyyyy' so i typed in "testingcheats true" same thing i tried with uppercase letters i tried with "TestingCheats True" and i even tried with quotations, all it said for any of it "Unable to process command"  I wanted to tear my hair out! I am playing on mac, and if any other mac or PC users are having this problem then please reach out and tell me, HOW IN THE WORLD DID YOU FIND IT YOU ARE A TACTICAL GENIUS!  😠 please help me because this is getting frustrating

    HI, also when i type in any ding dang cheat this same stupid problem happens! 😠😠😠😠😠😬

    It says this when you do not type a valid cheat. What are you trying to enter? Also there is no such thing as a ding dang cheat in the Sims 4

    Oh my goodness this brings me back to when I first started trying to use testing cheats. The same thing happened - got the error "Unable to process command" I was like huh?

    Later I found that I was doing it wrong. You need to choose the family you want to play, and be in Live mode to get the cheats to work. I press pause right after getting into live mode.

    How To: Use Testing Cheats -

    1. Press Shift-Ctrl-C all at the same time.
    2. Enter testingcheats on or testingcheats true, press enter.
    -- Once this is enabled, it should show you a message in the cheat console that the cheats are enabled.
    3. Copy or paste the desired cheat, press enter.
    4. Press the ESC key or Shift-Ctrl-C again to exit the cheat console.
