Whitescreen on The Sims 4 whenever I alt+tab

This has been happening for a long time and I can't find a solution anywhere.

Everytime I jump to another tab, either by alt+tab or through the windows key, when I come back I have to wait for a whitescreen. Sometimes it goes away after a while, but sometimes it doesn't. It's more likely for it to not come back if I switch tabs too often or stay out the game's tab for too long. I can still hear the game and still click on some things, but I can't see anything and, more often than not, cannot leave the game's tab after it gets stuck on the whitescreen. I've lost way too much progress to this already and it honestly makes me want to stop playing the game every time it happens.

I've tried repairing the game, cleaning the cache, removing mods, but nothing ever helps. Btw, ALL MY DRIVERS ARE UP TO DATE!!! I keep seeing this being suggested as a solution but it's definitely not my case. Help!
